JURJĀNU ANDREJS VI INERNATIONAL WOODWIND COMPETITION’S CLOSING CONCERT

At the conclusion of the young wind instrument performers’ competition, you will hear a solo from a world-renowned musician, and a new work. Felix Renggli comes from Switzerland and is one the greatest flute-players of today. He will be a jury member at the Jurjānu Andrejs’s International Competition, and in the gala concert, we will hear Renggli’s dazzling performance in a classical flute concerto. The new work has been written by Ilona Breģe, an expert of Riga’s music history. Celebrating the competitors in the woodwind instrument category, seemingly bulky brass instruments will compete in delightful play – the trumpet, the trombone and the tuba.
