SYMPHONIC HIT WITH GORAN GORA. TCHAIKOVSKY’S ROMEO AND JULIET

550_LNSO_Gorangora_17okt_550x550px

There is a lot of symphony music in the world, but only a few compositions are destined to become hits with memorable melodies, pronounced rhythms, and with their unique lyrical or vivacious spirit. Tchaikovsky wrote his Variations on a Rococo Theme for a very virtuosic cellist and an orchestra. A double bass is considerably larger than a cello, but it is no less agile, which is why we will hear the elegant, playful composition arranged for orchestra and double bass, solo by LNSO’s principal double bass Oskars Bokanovs. We will also hear the fantastic overture Romeo and Juliet whose love theme is one of the most beautiful melodies in the history of music.
