In_üra Br_½numa

Ināra Brīnuma is a member of the LNSO, chamber musician and viola teacher. She has been working at the LNSO since 1978 and is the orchestra’s principal viola since 1985. In 1990, Ināra Brīnuma started teaching at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, and she is a teacher at the Emīls Dārziņš Music School since 1991. Several dozen young violists have been raised under her skillful guidance.

Ināra Brīnuma participated in an international competition in Budapest in 1979, where she received a diploma and special award For Purity of Style. In addition, she excelled in the 1980 All-Union Competition in Lviv.

Ināra Brīnuma was a member of the JVLMA string quartet from 1982 to 1992. Participant of several Radio Latvia recordings both as a soloist and as a member of the quartet. Ināra Brīnuma has performed with the Liepāja SO and the LNSO under the baton of numerous distinguished Latvian and foreign conductors.

Ināra Brīnuma started her musical journey at the Emīls Dārziņš Music School in the viola class of Evars Lielbārdis; she graduated from the JVLMA in 1982 from the viola class of Bernhards Tiltiņš.
